This nut butter comes from the Vitellaria Nilotica tree, a sub species which grows in Northern Uganda and Southern Sudan (Eastern Africa). All pure, unrefined shea butters has remarkable moisturizing and healing properties, but the East African Nilotica Shea Butter is higher in olein (the liquid part of the Shea Butter), which makes it much softer and smoother in consistency and more applicable to the skin than conventional shea butters.

Shea butter is a unique and precious botanical substance, a blend of natural compounds with unparalleled healing and moisturizing effects on the skin. It leaves the skin feeling soft and well-moisturized yet not greasy. Our East African Shea Butter makes a great lip balm, hair butter and all over body moisturizer.
